Role Overview:
As an Account Director, you will be leading a high performing team and be responsible for their management of work for your assigned clients, coordinating internally and externally, to deploy best in class and best fit projects. You will also need to be hands on - willing and able to support your team to ensure the successful delivery of programmes of work.
 
Maintaining a positive commercial relationship between clients and the business is critical, and you will be accountable for revenue maintenance – working with internal teams on commercial growth, client satisfaction and mutual growth and profitability. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all aspects of client management including ensuring client expectations are understood and managed, and any contractual obligations (e.g. SLAs) are met 
  • Working with the Senior Account Director and Regional Client Partner to establish and agree on client/account plans, priorities and key deliverables
  • Working with creative and artwork departments to develop and deliver best in class marketing communications, including email, social content, online experiences, AR, and more
  • Accountability for the financial control of clients within your portfolio
  • Identify opportunities and drive business value from existing clients by presenting structured, relevant options for development of existing projects and proposals for new initiatives
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell wider services
  • Ensure deliverables and services are tracked against the account/client strategy and priorities to ensure that we are delivering value
  • Coordinate the relevant internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), external client stakeholders, and any third-party providers to deliver the services required to complete client’s requirements
  • Having a thorough comprehension of ISO and GDPR compliant processes
  • At all times manage client relationships as a personable, approachable and professional
  • Take responsibility for your teams’ appraisal process and identifying training needs and opportunities
  • Lead, motivate and inspire your account team in their roles managing clients, client requirements and their own contribution and development.
You will need to :
  • Be a strategic thinker, can make a clear assessment of business opportunities and service enhancements and optimisations
  • An understanding of direct marketing, CRM, martech and integrated approaches (including direct mail, email, media and digital/ social)
  • A numerate, creative problem solver who can demonstrate structured, effective thinking and is able to foresee potential issues with a project and propose solution options
  • Demonstrable communication, influencing and relationship management skills
  • An ability to motivate and inspire the wider team
  • Solid account management background with experience of managing and leading significant client accounts
  • Considerable and recent experience of leading or managing major projects, with a strong ability to successfully manage multiple tasks to budget
  • Ability to delegate effectively but also willing to take a hands-on approach when needed 
  • An approachable personality, who can build strong rapport with clients and colleagues alike
  • High levels of energy and resourcefulness
  • A creative thinker who can transcribe marketing requirements into CRM activity
  • Business Management / Marketing degree, qualification, and/or Direct Marketing related courses advantageous.
