Senior Marketing Executive (hybrid 1-2 days office per week)

Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager, and working closely with insight, digital and communications teams, the focus of this role will be to support the marketing and sales teams in delivering agreed Group Marketing objectives and Sector Marketing plans. To identify, plan and create online/email and offline lead generation and promotional activity. Develop marketing collateral, events/webinars, case studies and write copy if needed to promote services. Closely monitoring outputs, providing marketing measurement and reporting in line with agreed KPIs is also critical.


  • Be responsible for planning, delivery and performance reporting of Group marketing activity, ensuring deliver against key objectives and sector marketing plans.
  • Agree / drive campaign delivery using online and offline tools, incl. lead generation, thought leadership and promotion of B2B services and propositions..
  • Production of digital and offline collateral such as brochures, adverts, emails, sales documents, sales presentations, case studies and campaign content for social media.
  • Support planning and delivery of events, webinars, sponsorships and customer nurturing programmes.
  • Writing copy for marketing and sales collateral, emails and ad hoc campaign social media.
  • Work with insight/research and sales to agree target audiences for activity.
  • Work with supporting agencies including design, digital, print and event to deliver marketing plans.
  • Provide administrative and research support to the Group Marketing Manager and team as required.
  • Coordinating marketing calendar ensuring plans stay up to date.
  • Ensure consistency across all content, collateral and campaigns produced in terms of brand, tone of voice and messaging.
  • To act as a point of contact for marketing, liaising with stakeholders within the business to answer queries, plan and deliver events, sponsorships or promotional opportunities.
  • Provide cover as deputy for Group Marketing Manager, and when required to wider marketing and communications team, e.g. social media or website over holiday absence and sickness.

Experience and skills:

  • Marketing experience: minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a B2B environment, with an understanding of marketing principles and techniques gained through working within a busy marketing team
  • Commercial experience: Experience working client side within a commercial organisation essential. Experience working within a medium to large organisation advantageous. 
  • Campaign / project management: Proven success of end-to-end campaign management or project management critical. Evidence of involvement in project teams from conception to implementation advantageous.
  • Collateral and content creation: Proven experience of creating sales and marketing collateral essential e.g., brochures, sales presentations, product flyers, adverts, event materials, emails etc.
  • Written and verbal communication skills: Excellent written communication skills including copywriting, spelling, proof reading and editing of various communication channels. Understanding of difference between selling products/services and storytelling or thought leadership.
  • Organisation and planning: Organised approach with proven ability to work to tight deadlines. Strong administrative and organisation skills, comfortable creating, maintaining and delivering multiple plans/activities at the same time. 
  • Managing relationships and teamwork: Self-motivated, proactive and able to work on own initiative whilst being a team player. Ability and willingness to ‘muck in’ and support wider team as required. Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analysis and reporting: Proven experience analysing and reporting on marketing performance.
  • Adaptability and flexibility: Comfortable with change, variety and managing multiple priorities 
  • Digital marketing: Experience and knowledge of basic digital marketing, emails/newsletter creation, digital content writing, marketing automation and social media advantageous.


Desirable - educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Marketing Degree / CIM Certificate or Advanced Certificate as minimum qualification requirement
  • Computer literate – good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (Pivot tables & V Lookups) PowerPoint
  • Graphic design & CRM software experience e.g., Salesforce, InDesign, Adobe (desirable)
  • Industry digital qualifications such as Google Analytics, B2B Analytics, (desirable)
  • Experience with / knowledge of marketing automation platforms and principles (desirable)
